I’m going to ask you to carefully consider your schedule for 2026-2027 and only commit to a time that won’t have conflicts with other activities.
From September to May, I teach weekly lessons. If you are committed to weekly lessons, I will reserve a spot for you. Since I’m committing a time slot to you, I’m asking that you do the same for me.
If you can’t do weekly lessons: we can figure it out as we go, but please know that the time slot(s) I can offer might be different for every lesson. I don’t reserve weekly spots for students that are taking lessons every other week (or some variation of that)…but I will do my very best to find a spot for you each time you need one.
If you are canceling frequently and can’t maintain the schedule that we set up, I will offer that time slot to another student that needs it.
Reminders
I charge the full lesson rate for same-day cancellations or no-shows. If I arrive at your house and you aren’t home, I charge for that lesson. If we have a virtual lesson scheduled and you do not show up, I charge for that lesson. I DO NOT follow school schedules for holiday or weather closings, so please keep this in mind.
Payment
I ask that you render payment on the day of the lesson. I accept cash, Venmo, Zelle, Paypal, or personal check. In the event that I’m continually sending you reminders for lesson payments that are weeks late: going forward, it is likely that I will ask you to prepay for each month of lessons. Regarding the rare event of personal checks bouncing: I will ask you to cover the bank fee as well as the original check amount.
Flu, Covid, and Bugs
For in-person lessons: if you or someone in your family has the flu, Covid, fever, stomach bug, or other signs of illness: please make sure to tell me in advance of the lesson. If your child was absent from school due to illness on the day of the lesson and is currently sick, please communicate this to me ahead of time. If the flu or Covid is ripping through your house….I would prefer not to bring that home to my family.
Communication
I organize my weekly schedule every Sunday evening. (If you are later in the week, I might contact you on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday). I will send texts out to all students involved in lessons for the upcoming week.
I know we are all very busy. I’m kindly asking you to respond in a timely manner (even if you have a regular weekly spot), and I will do the same!
Parents!!
During in-person lessons that are for students under the age of 18, please have a parent or trusted adult present in the house during the lesson. This is specifically for safety, should your child (or myself) have an unexpected medical emergency.
If any of the above needs further discussion, please contact me!
